To date, winter this year in the Netherlands has been cool rather than cold. So when we arranged with Marten de Vries of Greenship (see information on ballast water) to meet him in the harbour town of Harlingen in the north of the country to run through some animations of the Greenship ballast water cleaning system and to do some filming, we were not prepared for the sudden drop in temperature.
