Getting a first hand taste of Morganonline life
Being part of Morganonline is more than a job. There are so many facets to Morganonline that it is difficult to explain to people who do not see us in action. Days of computer work are followed by days of being out and about talking to people, filming, diving. We were very glad therefore when a member of our team, our good friend and webmaster, Ben Lippolt, came to stay on board the Morgan for a week in Tenerife.
As our webmaster, getting a first hand taste of Morganonline life was useful. It was important that he experienced what we experienced, that he saw the tough logistics of operating from a boat, that internet access is always a challenge, that we network and research in different languages, that we always have to adapt to the ways things are done in the place in which we find ourselves.
We had warned Ben ahead of time that his time on board the Morgan would not be a holiday. Luckily a holiday was not what he was expecting. He was keen to pitch in and help. And he was a great help. Having him to brainstorm with
was wonderful, as was simply having another pair of hands. While we were busy filming, Ben acted as a PR pro, explaining to interested passers-by what we were doing, why and how important it is to respect and cherish the ocean.
Ben, thank you for taking on the voluntary task of webmaster for the Morganonline website, and for spending the time with us and taking part in all our activities so graciously.
